01  Industry Background

CNC Spring machine, also called computer spring machine, is equipped with a computer system and instruction programming. It is fully controlled by the computer system through programming, and is widely used in modern industrial production due to low labor costs, high stability, high precision, and less manpower involvement. At present, CNC spring machines on the market are mostly configured with a high-priced servo control system of a Japanese brand. Along with increasingly complex international political situation and fierce market competition, it is imperative to develop highly cost-effective domestic servo control systems as alternatives.

A CNC spring machine user in Wenzhou, Zhejiang has been using a servo control system developed by a Japanese brand. As the industry competition intensifies, enterprises are faced with growing costs. In order to effectively control costs, this user began to seek for an appropriate domestically developed servo control system and get rid of the dependence on imported high-priced servo control systems.

03  Solution

  1. Working Principle

A spring machine consists of five structures: straightening, feeding, diameter change, pitch control and cutting. In terms of working principle, the steel wire is straightened via the straightening structure, and then moves forward linearly with the help of feeding structure; the diameter changing and pitch structures control the springs’ diameter and length, respectively; the springs are then cut off by the cutting structure.

    The springs with a diameter of 0.22mm require extremely high precision and stability of the servo control system. Even if a Japanese servo control system is adopted, the product still deforms a lot, and bulk processing cannot be achieved; after using TLS Servo Control System, the processed finished products do not deform at all. The blades are free of burrs, with smooth cut surface; its output torque is more stable and conducive to the processing of springs with soft materials, compared with similar products.

The TLS Servo Control System designed for the CNC spring machine industry is the first domestically manufactured servo system under mass production that has passed the tests of spring machine industry, solving the drawback in the imported Japanese servo control system, namely, stable processing of springs in small diameter with soft materials; after using the TLS Servo Control System, the spring processing quality is significantly superior to that from CNC spring machines with a Japanese servo control system, and the price is much lower.
